Part of Manly Warringah Athletics
Competition
Competition is at the Sydney Academy of Sport, Narrabeen on Saturday mornings from 8am (earlier for 1500m/walk events).
Children are to meet their age manager (holding the correct age flag) on arrival, who will then take them through their events for the morning. The weekly program will be on display at a table inside the main gate and their first event for the day will be highlighted.
Please remember to provide your child with plenty of water, a snack and a hat. Don’t forget to cover them in plenty of sunscreen as well.
On Saturday, the children are required to wear their full Wakehurst uniform. This includes their athlete number, to be attached to the front of their singlet or crop top, and their age patch which must be attached to the left hand leg of their shorts or briefs. An athlete cannot compete without these numbers.
For safety reasons, parents are not allowed to accompany their children onto the track unless they are signed in as a parent helper. Being a parent helper is NOT the same as parent duties; you are required to complete 4 parent duties per season to have your $100 bond returned. Acting as a parent helper is additional to these duties and entirely optional (though greatly appreciated by the Age Managers!).
